Who is Jason Risorto?

I'm a self-taught photographer and an unapologetic gear junkie. A rock climbing, Architectural Design reading, hot sauce aficionado who dreams equally of a SoHo loft and a lake house with a boat garage. I'm just as likely to be found drinking a beer on a mountaintop as I am to be sipping champagne on a rooftop. To me, travel is not a privilege it's a priority and one that's not meant to be done alone or on a cruise ship.  I aim to try to explore a city like a local and I'm the type to constantly be planning my next trip.

My travels led me to pick up a camera and my desire to never say "the picture doesn't do it justice" led me to where I am today. Now, I'm the type to try to calculate how to be at the right place at the right time for the perfect photo. Still, some of my favorite shots are from unexpected experiences so I try to keep an open mind and my camera handy. Though traveling is one of my favorite hobbies, living in New York City has given me the opportunity to continuously explore new places right at home and acts as a beautiful backdrop for the majority of my photos.

I'm a published author with a book, New York Cityscapes,  available for purchase on Amazon.

My photos have been featured by brands and various media outlets including: Beautiful Destinations, Buzzfeed, Nikon, Washington Post, Framed Tweets, ABC 7 New York, NBC 4 New York, Pix 11 News, Fox 5 New York, The Culture Trip and Time to Climb.
